Uber Spheres — Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix 2019

With more than 300,000 people attending the Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park, Melbourne, clear navigation and efficient transport solutions were essential. As the official rideshare partner for the 2019 event, Uber aimed to deliver a smooth and hassle-free experience, helping fans travel from their front door to trackside without missing a moment of racing action.

To support this, we created large-scale branded Uber inflatable spheres designed to clearly identify rideshare pickup zones within the busy event environment. Positioned within designated Uber areas, the inflatables acted as highly visible landmarks, helping thousands of attendees quickly locate their pickup point among the crowds.

Elevated above the surrounding activity using custom structural frames, the inflatable spheres maximised visibility across the venue. Their clean, recognisable form and bold Uber branding made them instantly identifiable, improving wayfinding and reducing congestion in high-traffic areas.

Practical, impactful and highly effective, the Uber spheres demonstrated how custom inflatable signage can enhance major events like the Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix. By combining branding with functional design, the installations helped streamline movement, improve the visitor experience and support Uber’s role as the official rideshare partner for one of Australia’s largest sporting events.
